Rastros

This piece, re-imagens the world map by making visible the contours of global trade routes through the ocean, as a cartography of maritime traffic. The piece is made with a soaked cotton thread in human blood to stitch cargo shipping  routes on cotton fabric. Then  the thread is removed, leaving behind only blood stains tracing the routes.
